Wide variety of products available at Golf Industry Show Silent Auction
The 2008 Golf Industry Show Silent Auction is open online at auction.golfindustryshow.com.
Proceeds from the auction support environmental stewardship, research and education to strengthen the compatibility of golf with the environment, player development, as well as grants and scholarships to advance the club management industry. Auction funds also provide young people with the opportunity to learn golf and the life values the game of golf represents.
"The Golf Industry Show Silent Auction benefits everyone associated with the golf facility, including golfers," said Teri Harris, managing director, development of The Environmental Institute for Golf and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). "Thanks to our very generous and committed donors and bidders, we are able to increase philanthropic efforts of these leading organizations."
The 2008 Golf Industry Show Silent Auction is presented by The Environmental Institute for Golf (the philanthropic organization of GCSAA), the National Golf Course Owners Association Foundation, The American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), The Club Foundation (the philanthropic organization of CMAA) and The Golf Course Builders Association of America Foundation.
The auction is completely online, so anyone from anywhere can bid on quality golf items. To bid, participants must register at auction.golfindustryshow.com, which automatically enters them in a drawing for a free trip to the 2009 Golf Industry Show in New Orleans. Bidding on most items but those from The Club Foundation closes at noon EST, Feb. 2, 2008 with the remainder ending 5:45 p.m. EST, Feb. 3.
"I was able to get some great items in the auction last year and my general manager Richard Ransome is also very supportive of the auction," said John Lof, GCSAA Class A golf course superintendent at Riverside Golf and Country Club in Portland, Ore., the winner of the 2007 Golf Industry Show Silent Auction’s drawing for a free trip to this year’s Golf Industry Show. "It is a great opportunity for us to find some brand-new, high-quality items that immediately improve our facility, plus it supports the industry which we are apart of."
