Louisville, Ky. – Cobalt Artworks, licensee and distributor of artwork for major global sporting events and promotions, will debut the 2008 Official Ryder Cup Artwork, created by LeRoy Neiman, at the PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 17 – 19, in Orlando, Fla. The 2008 Official Ryder Cup Artwork will be on display at the Cobalt Artworks Booth #4393.
One of the most prolific and well-known living artists, LeRoy Neiman, has been commissioned by Cobalt Artworks to create the 2008 Official Ryder Cup Artwork. The painting commemorates the 37th Ryder Cup, which will be held September 16-21, 2008 at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.
Neiman, best known for his brilliantly colored, stunningly energetic paintings of sporting events and leisure activities, has created an image that captures the international flavor of the 2008 renewal of golf’s most exciting competition. "At Valhalla in 2008, the Ryder Cup players are the premier thoroughbreds of the golf world," says Neiman. The legendary artist, who resides in New York City, is well-known for his creation of Official Imagery for such diverse events as the 1997 Kentucky Derby, 1998 Breeders’ Cup Championship, and the 2000 PGA Championship.
The Official Ryder Cup Artwork consists of a limited edition serigraph, signed and unsigned poster editions, notecard sets and postcards. Cobalt Artworks has worked closely with Knoedler Publishing, the prestigious New York firm that has been Mr. Neiman’s exclusive art publisher for over 30 years, in the creation and production of the Official Ryder Cup Artwork.
All editions are available for order at the PGA Merchandise Show. The poster is offered in two versions: the official Ryder Cup horizontal edition or the vertical Captain’s edition, each retailing for $50. Orders will also be accepted for the commemorative hand-signed poster edition which retails for $250. An exclusive 450-piece signed and numbered limited edition Serigraph is also available for $4200. The Ryder Cup collection also includes postcards with the Official Artwork that are available for $3.50 each and boxed notecard/invitation sets available for $20 each.
