MAGGIE VALLEY, N.C. – The renovated clubhouse at the new Maggie Valley Club has earned national recognition in Golf Inc. magazine’s 2007 Clubhouse of the Year competition.
The $6 million project was judged one of the top five clubhouse renovations in the nation by a panel of industry experts.
Results of the competition are in the January 2008 issue of Golf Inc., and MVC officials will receive an award at Golf Inc.’s annual Development Awards Gala, April 21 at Doral Resort and Spa in Miami, Fla. The gala is held in conjunction with the prestigious Golf Inc. Management and Development Conference.
The architect for the MVC project was Foxhollow Goodson Architecture of Knoxville, Tenn., while Tutwiler Design of Montgomery, Ala., handled interior design. General contractor was Clark & Leatherwood of Waynesville, N.C.
“A lot of time and effort was put into making this renovation first class,” said general manager Richard Brucki. “We are pleased that the judges saw the quality of the project. It validates what people have been telling us since we reopened the clubhouse in April.”
The clubhouse renovation took an aging structure and converted it into a state-of-the-art 18,000 square-foot “living room” and focal point for the new residential golf community at Maggie Valley Club.
The facility provides a wealth of amenities, such as: fine dining, casual dining, luxurious men’s and women’s locker rooms, fitness center, meeting rooms with cutting edge audio/visual components, high speed wireless Internet, balconies and decks overlooking the golf course, cozy gathering rooms with stone fireplaces, and an upscale, detached golf shop.
