With the Introduction of the HEX Progressive Iron Set
(Carlsbad, CA) -January 10, 2008 – HiPPO Golf Company completes the line up of HEX products with the introduction of its new HEX Progressive Iron Set. The new irons will be unveiled at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL at Hippo’s Booth #1823, located in the Orange County Convention Center.
The HEX 3-2-3 Progressive Iron Set features utility clubs, hybrid irons, and cavity-back wide sole short irons. The normally hard to hit 3, 4, and 5 irons have been redesigned as forgiving hybrids while the tough middle irons feature a maximum perimeter weighted hollow core design that is as easy to hit as a pitching wedge. The 8, 9 and pitching wedge have been designed with deep cavity backs and wide soles for high soft shots to the green.
“This is the most forgiving set of irons HiPPO has ever produced,” commented David Dixon, CEO of HiPPO Golf Company, Inc. “These clubs fit in perfectly with our line of HEX products, including the popular and forgiving HEX” Driver, Fairway Woods, Hybrid Clubs and Putter.”
The 3, 4, and 5 hybrid irons are similar in shape to the HEX driver and have optimum weight distribution low and to the rear corners to make a forgiving club that gets the ball up quickly for long high shots to the green. A low center of gravity promotes an optimal ball flight and maximizes carry distance from these long iron equivalents.
The 6 and 7 middle irons feature a closed, hollow core, deep cavity-back design with a vibration dampening polymer cavity cap to create a soft feeling at impact. A lower center of gravity helps optimize the launch conditions for added carry distance. The iron design not only promotes confidence at address but provides a larger sweet spot for added forgiveness.
The 8, 9 and Pitching Wedge are designed with a deep-cavity low-weighted sole for high soft shots to the pin out of deep rough or hardpan lies. An undercut cavity design coupled with a wide sole system lowers the center of gravity for increased launch conditions and a better ball flight.
The Hex 3-2-3 Progressive iron set features the proprietary Mitsubishi Rayon CP4 graphite shaft in Stiff and Regular flex or steel shaft in Stiff or Regular flex. Sets are available in a graphite/steel or graphite/graphite shaft combination. The Hippo dual cord grip (upper half cord, lower half soft compound) is standard and provides incredible feel and control even in wet conditions.
The new HEX Progressive Iron sets will be available to ship in early February and will have an MSRP of $399.00 for all graphite shafts and $349.00 for the graphite/steel shaft combination.
In addition to the new HEX Progressive Irons, HiPPO’s full line of products will be displayed at booth # 1823. Attendees will have the opportunity to check out the entire line of products including the HEX” Driver, Fairway Woods, Hybrids, and Putter, and the industry’s largest selection of packages and boxed sets for men, women and juniors.
