Elite Sport Products Introduces Marquis Putter at 2008 PGA Merchandise Show

Austin, TX – Elite Sport Products will be introducing their new Marquis Putter at the 2008 PGA Merchandise Show January 17 – 19, 2008. The new Marquis, a mallet style putter following the tradition of two and three piece designs of the Dead On Series, improves the already acclaimed feel, balance, and feedback that have put Elite Sport Products on the map. All of the Putters produced by Elite Sport Products are 100% designed, manufactured, and hand assembled in the USA.

The three piece design of the Marquis Putter utilizes the same stainless steel head as the Dead On Series III, an aircraft aluminum rear tail, and large stainless steel weights inserted in the rear outboard features of the tail. The Marquis is an offset shaft design mallet, and is available in RH/LH configuration, 33″, 34″, 35″ lengths, and features stepless True Temper Shafts and Winn Grips.

The putter head is machined out of a solid block of heat treated 17-4 PH Stainless Steel and features a large machined cavity in the center and an improved patent pending True Grip putting surface. The cavity supplies a large MOI and an enhanced “sweet spot”, while the applied putting surface, which resembles smooth sandpaper when viewed under a microscope, grips the ball for a fraction of a second before sending it on a true roll. A set up dot in the head assures proper club alignment at address.

The rear wing is machined out of a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum and includes a machined cavity in the bottom center to increase the overall MOI of the putter. Two large 29 mm stainless steel inserts are strategically placed at the outboard areas of the rear tail, substantially increasing the MOI of the putter head. Machined “accelerating arrows” in the rear wing provide optimal directional assist when viewing from on top.

“We’re very excited about our new Marquis Putter”, said Phil Vinton, CEO of Elite Sport Products LP. “When I first brought out our Marquis Prototype to PGA Tour Events for evaluation, it was challenging to get the putter back on occasion. I had to explain to the Players that this was just a prototype and not yet ready for Tour use. The responses we received at these events confirmed that the Marquis was going to be a winner.”

The Marquis provides the same feel, balance, and feedback that the Elite Sport Products is known for. And, weighing in at 442 grams head weight, it provides even more stability than the acclaimed Dead On Series III.
