GILBERT, AZ. (January 22, 2008) – Player’s Pass, a national company that markets a discount golf membership program featuring half-price and reduced fee golf at golf courses nationwide, has announced its plan to hire ten additional Ambassadors by March 2008.
Player’s Pass is continuing to grow its national sales team of Ambassadors to assist with the continued growth of its discount membership program. Until recently, Player’s Pass was sold primarily by high school student athletes as a fundraising vehicle. Now, with the establishment of the direct marketing program, the general public can receive these same discounts by purchasing a Player’s Pass membership through the website at www.playerspass.com, at golf retail outlets and golf courses in numerous cities.
The Ambassador position requires making sales calls to golf courses and retail outlets, distributing membership sales materials, distributing trial memberships at golf events, selling Player’s Pass memberships to local businesses for use as a premium gift item and working with local media to expand the opportunities for growth within each territory.
Andy Mears, President of Player’s Pass states, “If you have a passion for golf, enjoy working with people, don’t mind selling and are interested in being part of the golf industry, Player’s Pass is interested in talking to you about becoming a Player’s Pass Ambassador Field Sales Representative. As a Player’s Pass Ambassador, you’ll have the ability to become associated with an unlimited number of golf courses in your region and be a contributor to the golf scene in your backyard”, says Mears.
The next Ambassadors scheduled to be hired will work in the following regions: Allentown/Lehigh Valley, PA.; Philadelphia, PA./Southern New Jersey; Springfield, Ma.; Indianapolis, IN.; St. Louis, MO.; Minneapolis, MN.; Denver, CO.; Phoenix, AZ.; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. and Orlando, FL.
Mears, who is also a member of the Growth of the Game Committee in the Michigan Section PGA as well as president of Player’s Pass and a recently elected board member of ING (International Network of Golf), realizes the value of developing representatives like this in order to promote the game of golf.
Mears believes that by hiring highly motivated and qualified Ambassadors to represent and energetically promote Player’s Pass this will continue to further bring the great game of golf to the grass roots level.
Since 2001, Player’s Pass has helped over 425,000 golfers save money on their rounds of golf and has raised more than $6.5 million for high school athletic programs and junior golf development.
Player’s Pass is a division of Varsity Gold, a Gilbert, Arizona based company founded in 1988 that every year helps more than 15,000 high school athletic teams, elementary and middle schools and raises nearly $50 million to fund programs. Player’s Pass, which promotes expanded participation at golf facilities nationwide through a discount program, is sold through Varsity Gold’s fundraising organization, as well as via direct marketing.
