Company Veteran Brings Extensive Leadership, Management Skills to New Role
(AUGUSTA, GA) — E-Z-GO, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company and the world’s leading manufacturer of golf cars and utility vehicles, today announced the promotion of Michael Parkhurst to Vice President, Global Sales, as the company further strengthens its focus on sales following the introduction of the new RXV fleet golf car.
Formerly Vice President of Golf Channel and Branch Operations at E-Z-GO, Parkhurst will oversee the sales and service organizations including Specialty, Used, Fleet Golf, Corporate Accounts, Parts & Accessories and Customer Care. The promotion is part of E-Z-GO’s continuing effort to grow its business through the fleet, consumer and secondary transportation markets. The company’s newest vehicle, the game-changing RXV, was unveiled in November and boasts an array of industry-first features and functions.
Parkhurst came to E-Z-GO in 2000 as Northeast Regional Manager. In 2002 he was promoted to Director of Northern Sales, and in 2004 assumed the position of Director of Golf Sales. He became Vice President of Golf Channel and Branch Operations in 2006. From 1992-2000 Parkhurst served as Vice President of Sales for the Bruedan Corporation (Bolton, Conn.), the world’s largest independent golf car distributor.
"Mike’s extensive business experience and unique management background are invaluable as E-Z-GO enters an exciting new phase," says Kevin Holleran, President of E-Z-GO. "Mike has proved himself to be a passionate, forward-thinking and effective leader, and he will play a key role as E-Z-GO enhances its customer-focused sales operations."
"I’m grateful for this promotion and excited about the opportunities presented by the new position," says Parkhurst. "I look forward to helping E-Z-GO’s global sales team strengthen its status as the industry’s finest while driving superior value to our customers."
In November, Holleran was promoted to President of E-Z-GO after joining the company as Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2003. Also in November, E-Z-GO introduced the RXV, its first all-new fleet golf car since the TXT in 1995. The new vehicle is expected to deliver exceptional value to golf course operators through reduced energy and maintenance costs, and an unsurpassed experience for golfers through best-in-class power, control, comfort and safety.
