Woods is Two for Two with Nike?s New ONE Ball
The unstoppable dominance for Nike Golf continues with Tiger Woods capturing his sixth Buick Invitational victory, which comes on the heels of Nike Golf Tour Staff member KJ Choi’s win at the Sony Open just two weeks ago. It marked Woods’ 62nd PGA Tour win, tying him with Arnold Palmer for fourth place in all-time victories on the PGA Tour.
Using Nike’s new ONE Platinum Ball featuring Nike’s innovative Power Transfer Technology, Woods ranked second in greens in regulation with an average of 81%. For the tournament, Woods hit 58 greens in regulation, 17 of which were in the final round. Due in stores on February 1, the Nike ONE Platinum and ONE Black Balls include Power Transfer Technology that promote increased distance in metal woods, long irons and off center hits. Nike’s Power Transfer Technology, with its thick advanced polymer located inside the mantle layer, increases ball speed and generates power and energy to ensure enhanced distance for a wider range of clubs in the bag. Woods’ Buick Invitational title makes him two for two in wins with the new Nike ONE Platinum ball, after having won the Target World Challenge at the end of last year, when he first put the ball in play.
With victories by Nike Golf Tour Staff members Woods and Choi so far in 2008, the Nike ONE Platinum ball has won two of the four events played on the PGA Tour.
