Captures Qatar Masters with Pro V1 Golf Ball and Full Bag of Titleist Golf Clubs
Fairhaven, MA (January 28, 2008) – The stage was the Qatar Masters. The player was Adam Scott. From tee-to-green, the equipment was all Titleist, as Scott fired a record-setting 11-under 61 en route to his 13th career victory and World Number 4 ranking. In addition to his trust in the Pro V1 golf ball, Adam experienced the advanced performance and pure feel of new Titleist AP irons. In just his second start with his new AP2 irons, putting them into the bag with success last week at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, Scott established a new course record while posting his personal best round as a professional. That’s both Titleist advanced performance and winning performance. And technology you can count on.
— The win was Scott’s second in two tries at the event, first winning it in 2002.
— Scott’s 20-under par 268 total matched the tournament record previously set in 1999.
— Scott started the final round three shots off the lead, but posted five birdies in the first five holes, en route to 11 birdies on the day.
— In addition to the Pro V1 golf ball, the Titleist ambassador relied upon a full bag of Titleist golf clubs, including the new AP2 irons.
— Scott becomes the first player to win with the new AP2 irons on the worldwide professional tours, a week after Martin Kaymer became the first player to win with the new Titleist ZM Forged irons with his first career victory at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship.
–The AP2 and ZM Forged are two of the four new irons introduced by Titleist for 2008. For more information and downloadable images of the new irons, please visit: http://www.titleist.com/news/newsdetail.asp?id=593&category=equipment
