Market Leader Offers Diverse Selection of Golf, Sportswear and Leisure Styles
(Vancouver, BC, Canada) — Popular women’s apparel designer Linda Hipp and her company, LIJA, introduce six vibrant collections for Fall 2008 fusing sport, leisure and fashion with unique color stories, chic details and an expanded range of outerwear across more than 200 pieces.
The line’s golf and sportswear collections — Soul Searching, Born to be Blue, Turn it Loose, Love Overdue and All My Tomorrows — showcase rich tones that are both soft and sporty, tech-specific styles that offer warmth without bulkiness, and an unequaled attention to detail in quilted fabrics and faux fur trims.
The sixth collection, LIJA’s luxurious cotton-based Life of Leisure, returns with casual styles that extend well beyond the course in shades of parfait, port and white. Featuring t-shirts, vests, jackets, shorts and capris, this group provides women with ultimate comfort during their leisure pursuits.
"Our Fall 2008 collections transcend all aspects of the modern woman’s active lifestyle," says Hipp, principal designer and founder. "This year, we’ve used an expanded color palette and subtle prints to create clothing and accessories that suit a variety of personalities, from athletic to feminine to sophisticated."
Highlighting LIJA’s expanded outerwear offerings are the Caliber Pinnacle Jacket, Windchill Bossman Vest and Primaloft® Go-getter Jacket. Essentials for every woman’s closet, these styles feature the line’s newest technical fabrics which are lightweight, water repellant, wind resistant and breathable.
"Our performance-based jackets and vests, like all our styles, can be worn on and off the course," says Hipp. "We’ve added several new categories — Primaloft®, Wind Chiller and Caliber — to our outerwear package, making it easier to choose ideal pieces for an activity, whether that’s an insulated sweater for cool mornings or an urban jacket that doubles for walking the city streets."
Retailing from $65.00 for some polos to $220.00 for select outerwear, the collections are highlighted in a 60-page catalog that is currently available for retailers and media members. The new catalog features the "Hipp Factor" — which calls out Hipp’s favorite items from each collection. These pieces will also be profiled as such at retail with unique garment packaging.
LIJA is a staple in finer golf and non-golf retailers across North America, including world-renowned resorts and clubs like Pebble Beach, Doral, Kiawah Island, Whistling Straights and Congressional. The company’s clothing is worn by scores of women golf professionals worldwide.

An avid and highly-skilled golfer, Hipp struggled to find on-course apparel that meshed with her off-course fashion sensibility. Recognizing a market opportunity — and the chance to combine her passions for fashion, golf and business — Hyp Golf was launched in July 1997. The company re-branded as LIJA in late 2004. Chiefly influenced by both European trends and West Coast style, Hipp has garnered a widespread reputation as one of North America’s hottest sportswear designers.
