(RIDGEFIELD, CT) — Boccieri Golf, original equipment manufacturer of the Heavy Putter, and Solus Golf today announce a strategic alliance whereby Boccieri Golf will exclusively manage the global sales and distribution of Solus wedges.
The agreement leverages Boccieri Golf’s sales and distribution infrastructure, including inside sales, outside sales, field-tech representatives, international distributors and fulfillment both domestically and overseas. These tactical capabilities will help to substantially grow the Solus brand.
With the addition of Solus, Boccieri Golf extends its reach beyond the green to provide the total short-game solution for golfers seeking innovative, game-improvement-equipment technology. The Heavy Putter is sold in more than 3,000 retail outlets in the US and is available in more than 30 markets worldwide.
"The Heavy Putter and Solus brands are not only compatible product lines, but are both entrepreneurial companies which draw upon cutting-edge yet common-sense engineering to lower scores and ultimately make the game more enjoyable," says Stephen Boccieri, CEO of Boccieri Golf and inventor of the Heavy Putter. "Further, the economies of scale achieved in the sales and distribution process will benefit retailers and consumers. The Heavy Putter and Solus wedges represent significant technological advancements, and now we are one efficient point of contact for the complete short-game package."
"We both have extremely beneficial products, and once golfers try them, they quickly realize our superiority," says Marc Ball, CEO of Solus Golf. "We view Boccieri Golf as a mentor in the industry, as it has set up a large and loyal distribution network for the Heavy Putter in a relatively short time."
Known for their crescent cut sole contour — giving golfers bounce when they need it and none when they don’t — Solus wedges are built to perform optimally on all playing surfaces. Other standout features include a higher center-of-gravity for better trajectory management and increased spin rate, and a lower leading edge for greater playability from tight lies and reduced risk of "skulled" shots. The Solus Series 4.1 model ($119 MSRP) is a cavity back design for unparalleled forgiveness, and the Tour 7.1 ($129 MSRP) offers the same technology in a blade style wedge for golfers to successfully "work" the ball.
Heavy Putter’s new Deep Face Series features five models ranging in design from traditional to ground-breaking, each with raised centers-of-gravity on the clubface for superior distance control and improved skid-roll characteristics. Like the entire Heavy Putter line, the DF models weigh just under two times that of conventional putters, thus, automatically engaging larger, more stable muscles promoting a smoother, more consistent pendulum stroke.
With its Deep Face Series, Boccieri Golf for the first time features two models exclusively for women. In addition to the men’s G3-DF and C2-DF, the women’s versions have a pink grip, touches of pink on the clubhead, and come with a distinctly feminine headcover and a Lady HP shaft band.
Further validating the performance of the Heavy Putter DF Series, PGA TOUR winner Troy Matteson put both the C2-DF and the F3-DF into play. With the new DF putters in hand, Troy joined the elite group of 60 in the semi-final FedEx Cup round after recording two other top-10 finishes in 2007. Several other TOUR players are improving their scores with Heavy Putter DF models.
Most Heavy Putter DF models come in standard, mid and long lengths. All standard length models are $169 MSRP.
The Heavy Putter "Original" and "Matte" Series models — which spawned the global army of Heavy Putter true believers – are still available. They include an adjustable tip-weight kit to fine tune the balance point of the putter and match golfers’ unique release characteristics. There are three blades and three mallets within each series.
