Milesapalooza Tees off for its Third Season

(Ypsilanti, Mich.)— With calloused hands from snow shoveling, Michigan’s winter-wracked golfers will get a chance to grip and swing the newest clubs during Miles of Golf’s third annual Milesapalooza, February 20-24.

“This four-day sales and weekend demo day event has been extremely popular with our customers, all chompin’ at the bit for the start of the golf season,” said Chris Mile, president and co-founder of Miles of Golf located in Ypsilanti near Ann Arbor.

Milesapalooza begins on Wednesday, Feb. 20 and everything in the spacious shop, recently recognized by Golf World magazine as one of the “100 Best Golf Shops in America,” will be discounted with the exception of equipment from vendors who have minimum pricing policies.

Representatives of the 12 biggest names in equipment including Callaway, Cobra, Nike, Taylor Made, Titleist and Ping will be on hand at Miles of Golf’s heated tee shelters for the Milesapalooza’s Demo Days, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23 and 24.

The hottest items Miles’ staff saw at the recent PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando were clubs with interchangeable heads and shafts. Now approved by the United States Golf Association, these clubs will allow equipment alterations –before one tees off–for different heads and shafts for soft or firm fairways, high winds and no wind, or for use by scratch golfers’ or high handicappers’ play. Such “interchangeable” clubs will make re-shafting easier, quicker and less expensive.

As always, Miles of Golf’s customers may avail themselves of state-of-the-art club-fitting that utilizes Trackman,™ the Doppler radar golf measuring device. Widely heralded as the best of its kind in the industry, Trackman in conjunction with traditional club-fitting techniques allows Miles of Golf’s staff to match a customer with the proper and optimum equipment.

In addition to its retail operation and year-round practice range, Miles of Golf boasts the award-winning Kendall Academy, long-recognized as one of the state’s top instructional facilities. The eight-member staff of PGA professionals includes 2006 Michigan PGA Golf Professional of the Year and two-time Teacher of the Year Dave Kendall.

Miles of Golf is located at 3113 Carpenter Road in Ypsilanti, just 1.5 miles northeast of the US-23/I-94 interchange. The Miles of Golf offices can be reached at (734) 973-9004 or toll-free at (877) 973-9005. More information is available on the web at www.milesofgolf.com.
