LAKE MARY, FL – The International Network Of Golf (ING) has turned to an old friend for a new site for its 18th ING Spring Conference on May 27 through 31, 2008.
This annual gathering of golf media and industry leaders will be hosted by “the old friend,” Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (ACCVA), at a new site, the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel. The ACCVA has hosted the ING Mid-Atlantic Regional Seminar for three years.
The International Network Of Golf is an 18-year-old non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance and promote communication and education in golf. Any media member, and anyone involved in golf or related industries, is invited to join ING and take part in several ING conferences and events held each year.
The ING Spring Conference is expected to attract 225 attendees. During the conference, the Marriott Seaview Resort will host two days of golf and the ING Demo Lab, where nearly two dozen golf club manufacturers and training aid companies will display their products for testing.
Also, for the fifth consecutive year, the ING Spring Conference will qualify a team to represent the United States in the International Pairs World Finals in St. Andrews, Scotland. The qualifier takes place at historic Atlantic City Country Club. And, the inaugural Durland Cup Scramble, named after former ING Golf Committee chair Larry Durland, will be conducted at Harbor Pines Golf Club.
In welcoming the Spring Conference to Atlantic City, Mike Reynolds, senior director of sales for the ACCVA, said, “I know ING attendees will be amazed by the quality of golf in Atlantic City, and will be blown away by the diversity of the entertainment. We’re looking forward to showing off all of Atlantic City’s great attributes. This is the perfect location for the Spring Conference.”
ING Executive Director Mike Jamison agrees. “Before attending the ING regional seminar, it had been three decades since I visited Atlantic City,” said Jamison. “I could not believe the changes. The quality entertainment and dining are very impressive, and Atlantic City offers world-class golf to boot. Our members will not believe the new Atlantic City.”
Organizers are also pleased with the accommodations for the conference. “The Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel provides the quality meeting space we need, and is a short walking distance from Atlantic City’s famous Boardwalk and attractions,” said Jamison.
A busy ING Spring Conference schedule also includes:
1)The ever-popular One-On-One Appointment Show, a series of private meetings between exhibitors and media to open lines of communication, create unique promotional programs, gather story materials and build relationships.
2)The State Of The Industry Panel. Industry leaders Joe Steranka (PGA of America) and Mike Hughes (NGCOA) will be joined by others to bring our attendees up to date on the current state and direction of the golf business.
3)The ING Fashion Show. ING members will take to the runway as models, sporting the latest and greatest fashions from some of the industry’s top apparel companies.
4)Education and self-improvement programs galore, from communication, to marketing, to use of the Internet. There is something for everyone.
