Gogie Girl names charitable beneficiary

February 26, 2008

CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Gogie Girl, the designer of golf hats exclusively for women, is proud to designate the PGA TOUR Wives Association, Inc., as one of their charitable beneficiaries.

“We share 10 percent of our profits with non-profit organizations that benefit women and children,” said Gogie Girl co-founder Vicky Waldorf, wife of PGA TOUR player Duffy Waldorf. “Being a TOUR wife and a member of the PGA TOUR Wives Association since its inception in 1988, I felt like it was a perfect fit. Throughout the year, these dedicated, hard-working women reach out to the communities in various cities scattered across the country. For the past 20 years, they have help raise funds and donate money to various charitable organizations such as children’s hospitals, Habitat for Humanity, the American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of America, Our Military Kids, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation just to name a few. Their goal continues to be to leave the communities they touch a better place.”

This year, during the week of The Honda Classic, Gogie Girl will be an Honorary Sponsor supporting the TOUR Wives Golf Classic on Feb. 26 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. This is a nine-hole event where the TOUR playing husbands caddie for their wives. In some cases, this is complete role reversal as many times early in their professional careers the wives caddied for their husbands in small tournaments.

“We hope the golf fans come out and support this event,” said Waldorf. “It’s a lot of fun. The wives have a great time and they’ll look great in their new Gogie Girl hats. Moreover, they’ll be raising significant funds for children-related charities.”

Gogie Girl hats come in two sizes – Standard and Petite. Their proprietary Softweave™ mesh fabric and Silton™ lining provides a hat so soft and comfortable, women enjoy wearing it all day long. In addition, a shorter, more feminine brim provides plenty of protection from the sun while a perfectly placed space in the back is big enough to accommodate the longest of ponytails. It all adds up to the “Gogie Difference.”
