JUPITER, Fla. – SST PURE®, the No. 1 shaft-alignment technology on the PGA Tour and all major tours around the world, chalked up a victory at the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun on Sunday. The win was another strong demonstration of the performance-enhancing technology provided by Strategic Shaft Technologies (SST) L.C., developer of the SST PURE shaft alignment process.
This week’s champion who had clubs PUREd this season in the SST PURE Tour Trailer also captured the scoring average title for the week. The Mayakoba Golf Classic was the fifth win this season for players who have had shafts SST PURE aligned. Previous wins were recorded at the Sony Open and Bob Hope Chrysler Classic on the PGA Tour and the MasterCard Championship and Turtle Bay Championship on the Champions Tour.
“Each and every week, a pro player who has used SST PUREd clubs holds up the winning trophy or dominates the Top 10,” says Dick Weiss, president and managing partner of Strategic Shaft Technologies and founder of the SST PURE shaft alignment process. “Our patented SST PURE technology has been on the PGA Tour for nine years now, and our success is documented unlike any other service or product in golf because we scientifically verify and record each shaft’s improvement after PUREing.”
Weiss explains that the SST PURE shaft alignment process utilizes proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors to accurately analyze the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and to locate the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and/or twisting of the shaft is minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the club face by the golfer improves by up to 51 percent.
Finally, SST provides a computer printout for every shaft PUREd to show the results "before and after" that specific shaft has been analyzed and the PURE position identified for assembly. SST provides its ‘visible technology’ in a printed graph format detailing three key aspects of the SST PURE alignment process. The first is a 360° analysis of the shaft’s stiffness, roundness and straightness, known as the ‘Load Symmetry Index’ (LSI) test. The second evaluation is the oscillation in the ‘logo up’ or the factory installed shaft position in the clubhead. The final test is the oscillation in the shaft’s PURE-aligned position. This exact location is then marked prior to assembly. Every printout records the percentage that shaft was improved and the printout is made available to every player or customer that has PURE alignment work done. The SST PURE process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs and new shafts – steel or graphite – from all major manufacturers
Last season, players who have used SST PURE aligned shafts earned more than $94 million and won 18 PGA Tour victories. For more information on the SST PURE shaft alignment process or to locate a SST PURE licensee, call 877-254-4848 or visit www.sstpure.com.
