(Windermere, Fl)– The Golf Fitness Magazine Pay It Forward Award, recognizes those companies that go above and beyond in promoting golf fitness, nutrition, helping others, their community or the environment. This award is presented in each issue of Golf Fitness Magazine to a company that has taken their golf product or company and done something that all golfers should know about.
“From apparel companies to energy bars to putters, the golfing industry is one of the leaders in making a difference in our world and helping others and it is time to recognize this,” explains Golf Fitness Magazine Editor, Kristi Gomen.
The first Pay It Forward Award was presented in the January/February issue of Golf Fitness Magazine. This award was presented to Sweet Spot Golf. This company has designed the Think Pink Putter and has donated a percentage of each sale from the Think Pink club line to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. “We were very impressed not only with the style and accuracy of this great putter, but also to know that this company has created this “reminder,” states GFM Publisher Steve Gomen.
With the 1st award given, Golf Fitness Magazine announced today the recipient of the 2nd PAY IT FORWARD AWARD; to the SWINGDICATOR swing aid product. This company, owned by diabetes survivor Steve Porter, donates a portion of all sales to the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami. Steve Porter, recently lost his right leg to diabetes and has teamed up with PGA Tour Pro Scott Verplank, who also has type 1 diabetes, to inform and teach about diabetes, finding a cure and treatment options.
The PAY IT FORWARD AWARD will continue to be a regular feature and award given within each issue of Golf Fitness Magazine. At the end of the year, all six recipients will be placed on the GFM website with “their story.” At that time, we will ask our valued readers to vote on-line for their favorite company. The winner will be announced at the January, 2009; PGA Show in Orlando, FL and Golf Fitness Magazine will present them with a check for $2500 to be given to the non-profit organization or scholarship fund of their choosing.
“This is our way of PAYING IT FORWARD and also recognizing all the others that PAY IT FORWARD every day, there is no other way to be successful then without giving back to the community in which you are a part of, that is our company philosophy and the way we run our business and I believe the reason we have met so many wonderful companies,” explains Kristi Gomen.
