Plays Speeder Shaft & Averages 291 Driving Yards; Runner-Up Also Plays Fujikura Rombax X Brand

(Vista, CA – March 03, 2008) Fujikura salutes the winner and runner-up at the Honda Classic, who both played Fujikura shafts this weekend at PGA National, which is becoming renowned for its windy conditions and demanding layout.

The winner used a Speeder 757 shaft in his driver and averaged 291 yards off the tee, mounting the greatest comeback of his PGA Tour career, charging from three strokes down to win his first Tour event in more than three years. The runner-up played Rombax shafts at the Tour’s first 2008 Florida tournament.

“This is a terrific win and second place finish for Fujikura as both Tour pros are accomplished players who know our shafts would perform at PGA National’s notoriously windy conditions and demanding layout,” says John Hovis, Fujikura Tour Representative.”

Fujikura has been the #1 Driver and Wood Shaft brand on the PGA Tour for the last seven years. The brand is off to a strong 2008 start, winning the Driver and All Wood Shafts which includes hybrids count at the Tour’s first eight full-field events.

The company’s premier tour position was highlighted by being the #1 Driver Shaft Brand at all four men’s majors in 2007. On the LPGA and Champions Tours, Fujikura was the #1 Driver and Wood Shaft brand at their respective U.S. major championships.

The brand showed dramatic, consistent growth over the last three years across all handicaps and ages in shafts used in new drivers and fairway woods/hybrids, according to the most recent Darrell Survey National Consumer Report. The report shows that Fujikura grew 189% in New Driver Usages and 200% in New Fairway/Hybrids, exceeding leading competition from 2005 to 2007.

Its Tour successes are the result of Fujikura’s new Fit-On Academy, an innovative, proprietary research and development system and laboratory designed to create and test new breakthrough shaft designs and materials. Based at the company’s Vista CA offices, the Fit-On Academy uses the most advanced analysis and simulation technology to track golfer’s real swings and range of swing speeds to produce exclusive insights used to test and design performance shafts customized for the Tour and all levels of players of ages, skills and handicaps.

Fujikura is the primary supplier to many national brand OEM’s offering both proprietary and brand product shaft designs. Fujikura products also can be custom fitted through its network of over 900 Charter Dealers. To learn more about Fujikura, visit www.fujikuragolf.com.
