The Putting Arc congratulates the Pro/Am team from Canebrake CC in Hattiesburg, Mississippi for their win over 21 other five-man teams from five different states in Old Waverly’s annual Winter Shootout. The field included two former PGA Tour professionals, and several state open champions.
The Canebrake team consisted of professional Justin Elliott, and amateurs Mike Dowst, Stephen Yelverton, Kitt Frazier, and Matt Wofford.
Mike Dowst also won the trophy for low amateur, with rounds of 69 and 72 in windy, wet conditions.
All five members of the winning team are Putting Arc users, and three of the five work with VJ Trolio and have added Ben Hogan’s pivot to their golf swings.
Also, Old Waverly has announced its Golf School schedule for 2008, and the first school on March 15 is already fully booked. These schools will be taught by VJ Trolio and Tim Yelverton, and the indoor teaching center with hitting bays will guarantee a good school no matter what kind of weather.
