First Professional Victory for O?Hair Since Switching to the New TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider Putter and TaylorMade TP Red Ball
CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 10, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff professional Sean O’Hair used 14 TaylorMade® golf clubs and played adidas Golf’s new TOUR360 LTD footwear and adidas Golf ClimaCool® apparel to surge from three shots back at the start of the final round to claim the PODS Championship.
Sean O’HairUsing his new TaylorMade Rossa® Monza® Spider, O’Hair sank a dramatic 30-foot birdie putt on the 15th hole during the final round to catapult himself to the top of the leader board, a position he would not relinquish.
"It was one of the best putts I’ve ever hit in my life," said O’Hair. "With 10 feet to go, I knew it was in the hole. I really have to give credit to the new putter I’m putting with, the Monza Spider from TaylorMade. I put it into play this year and I’ve been putting fantastic. I feel really confident with my putting this year."
The win was O’Hair’s second on tour and his first since switching to the Monza Spider and the TaylorMade TP Red™ ball. It was also the second tour victory for Monza Spider, which was introduced on the PGA Tour just two months ago and used by the winner of the FBR Open.
Scheduled to launch at retail at the end of this month, the Monza Spider has already been widely embraced by Tour professionals worldwide. It was used by nine players in the field at the PODS Championship and was the No. 1 putter model at the Toshiba Classic* Learn more about the Monza Spider.
The Monza Spider wasn’t the only club that stood out for O’Hair; he played solid all-around golf throughout the week on the often wind-whipped Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort, one of the toughest layouts on tour this year.
