BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- San Diego Golf Academy, the oldest and largest golf college in the world, has partnered with 101 KGB-FM to promote SDGA’s open house event celebrating the college’s new campus. The event will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the all-new SDGA campus in Carlsbad, Calif.
The onsite radio broadcast by 101 KGB-FM will feature the classic rock station’s on-air personality Bromo, who is widely known for the bizarre acts he performs during broadcasts typically due to losing bets on rounds of golf with co-workers. The open house will also include facility tours, prize giveaways, food and refreshments.
“We are very excited to have Bromo attending this event. He is an entertaining disc jockey and an avid golfer who always has a good time on the course, win or lose,” says Richard Iorio, SDGA’s San Diego campus director. “SDGA teaches many concepts surrounding the game and business of golf, and among the more important lessons is simply to enjoy the game.”
The onsite radio broadcast provided by 101 KGB-FM will cover the event from noon to 3:00 p.m., including announcing six winners who will be awarded one round of golf with a PGA professional. Other door prizes, such as SDGA merchandise and items from the KGB Prize Closet, will be distributed as well. For more details, or directions to the event, please call 760-734-1208 or visit www.sdga.edu.
“Golf instructors, prospective students, and members of the golf industry are all invited to join in the festivities,” adds Iorio.
Founded in 1974, SDGA offers a 16-month program of golf instruction and golf business management on four campus locations in major golf markets – Phoenix, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and San Diego. The curriculum is designed to provide graduates with the education required to get the golf job they desire. The SDGA is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation.
