Newark, Ohio … The Golfworks, one of the leaders in golf club design technology, delivers in 2008 with four different driver designs with MOI readings over 5000 gm/cm”. The new designs offer golfers of all abilities a level of high performance and forgiveness that will maximize distance and control.
“The KE4 V 460cc Driver (http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_MA0128_A_c2p_E_hp) was designed to maximize the moment of inertia (resistance to twisting) without sacrificing a great look and feel,” said manager of product development and designer of the KE4 V driver Pete Calloway. The drivers elongated head shape, along with the trademark KE4 weighting system in the back, places the center of gravity far back in the head providing stability and making it easy to launch the ball high. Weight can be adjusted to accommodate the feel preference of the player, no matter what shaft type and/or length is needed. The polymer medallion/insert on the sole acts as a sound dampener and reduces vibration on off center hits. The investment cast construction of the KE4 V driver body and the forged CNC milled, variable thickness titanium face provides maximum distance and forgiveness for a wide range of abilities.
The CT250 Maximum MOI Driver Series continues the CT250 tradition of high performance and playability. “The CT250 brand is well known in custom club building as a high performance brand. It was key for us in this line to design a 460cc driver that met the MOI and performance parameters we were looking for, without going to the extreme geometric shapes you see in some other designs. The design has more width front to back to maximize the MOI, but the shape is definitely more appealing at address,” said Britt Lindsey, Vice President of R&D for The Golfworks. The CT250 Max MOI Drivers both have MOI readings over 5000 gm/cm”. The new look expands the width and breadth of the body to increase the stability of the head and increases the moment of inertia for maximum forgiveness. The visible back weighting in the Neutral (http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_MA0114_A_cn_E_672) version keeps the center of gravity low and rearward to provide reduced spin and optimum trajectory for maximum distance. The Draw version (http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_MA0115_A_cn_E_672) positions more weight in the heel to promote easier head rotation in the hitting zone, reducing a slight to moderate slice ball flight. The high strength titanium face is precision forged to exact specifications to maximize ball speed off the face to maximize distance.
The CER 5000 Driver Series (http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_CE0023_A_cn_E_672) offer more game improvement features than any driver ever offered by The Golfworks. First, the crown design has been expanded both in width, and most noticeably, in depth to increase the Moment of Inertia (resistance to twisting), making it very forgiving on off center hits and yielding a MOI reading of over 5000 gm/cm”. The 460 cc maximum allowable head size is maintained by slightly reducing the face and crown height, which also aids in keeping the cg lower in the club head, optimizing trajectory. The 1 degree closed face angle helps square the face angle at impact. There is also additional internal weighting in the back and heel area of the design (location is defined by the satin finished area in the heel), that gives the CER 5000 a slight draw bias which adds an additional slice correction feature to the design. The 0 degree effective offset hosel reduces the amount of face progression and keeps the cg further back in the clubhead, further enhancing game improvement.
