PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, March 12, 2008 – Under a sponsorship agreement with the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA), American Airlines again has been named the “Official Airline of the EWGA”. The relationship which began in 2007 provides association members with special American Airlines discounts to select EWGA event destinations.
Additionally, through American’s Business ExtrAA® Program, members can help the EWGA earn travel awards to support fundraising activities for The EWGA Foundation. American has established the airline industry’s first web page dedicated to women who travel, recognizing the need to provide additional information tailored to women’s travel and lifestyle. “So many of our members are frequent travelers for both business and pleasure,” says Pam Swensen, the CEO of the EWGA. “Having American Airlines as a supporting sponsor gives our members valuable travel benefits to attend EWGA events throughout the country. We welcome working with companies that understand the value of the female consumer.”
According to a recently released PGA of America 2007 golf participation survey, on average, an EWGA member annually spends $4,528 on golf fees, lessons, equipment, food and beverage, and golf-related travel. With nearly 20,000 members and over 120 chapters, this represents more than $85 million to golf and related industries.
