Bedford Springs Old Course Has Something Up Its Sleeve In April: Complimentary Golf Balls, Special Rate for Golf & Cart Any Day, Any Time

March 19, 2008

BEDFORD, Pa.-March 18, 2008-A complimentary sleeve of golf balls and a special rate of $69 ($89 on weekends), including a golf cart, are the components of the Spring special package available at the Old Course at Bedford Springs Resort throughout the month of April. And it’s available all day, every day at these rates!

The month-long offer is designed to entice more golfers to experience the award-winning restoration of the Old Course, which reopened with its original luster last summer and was recently named the 2007 Renovation of the Year by Golf Inc. magazine.

The renovation project retraced the footsteps of three revolutionary American golf course architects — Spencer Oldham (1895), A.W. Tillinghast (1912) and Donald Ross (1923). Select golf holes at Bedford Springs are thought to be some of the first golf holes in America.

This unique and historic collaboration of golf holes stretches across the foot of the Allegheny Mountains along Shobers Run creek, weaving amid the 200-year-old oaks, serene meadows and marshes of picturesque Bedford Springs Valley. The par 72, which ranges from 5,050 to a maximum of 6,785 yards, features bent grass greens, fairways and tees, with rough consisting of bluegrass and fescue.

The Bedford Springs Old Course is open to the public, with preferred tee times reserved for annual and corporate membership holders, and resort guests.
