Duke Unanimous Number One
NEW YORK, NY-The second Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II and III, will appear in the March 21st issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now at www.golfworld.com.
Duke retains the top spot in the poll, earning all 25 first-place votes. The Blue Devils are the first team to be a unanimous selection during the 2007-08 season. Duke is coming off a win at the UCF Challenge, its fourth victory in seven starts.
Rounding out the top five are UCLA (No. 2), Arizona State (No. 3), Southern California (No. 4) and Florida (No. 5).
LSU (No. 23) joins the top-25 for this first time this season. The Tigers have finished second twice this spring, at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and at the LSU/Cleveland Classic.
