After creating a buzz of anticipation last month with the surprise launch of its new ONOFF Red and Black Drivers in the U. S. market, Daiwa Golf Company (USA) has unveiled two all-new ONOFF Plus fairway woods to the U.S. market for 2008. The new ONOFF Fairway Arm Series woods are engineered for performance, yet designed for golfers who also seek a sense of individuality and personal style in their game.
Just like the new ONOFF driver designs, the premium ONOFF Fairway Arms series woods uniquely blend artistic form, function and high-performance.
“Providing golfers with high performance while simultaneously making a strong style statement, the ONOFF brand presents some of the most talked about golf equipment coming out of Asia or anywhere this year,” says Mike Matheny, general manager of sales for Daiwa Golf Company (USA). “We’re excited to bring the ONOFF Fairway Arms woods to the United States.”
The new ONOFF Fairway Arms model features a fiery red finish and is extremely forgiving – perfect for the average golfer who wants to go straight or hit a draw. The stylish Fairway Arms woods incorporate a tungsten-weighted sole, an ultra-thin maraging club face, and a deep ‘swing-assist’ center of gravity to create a high trajectory that is favorable for golfers of many skill levels. Available in 3-wood (15°), 5-wood (18°), 7-wood (21°) and 9-wood (24°). The 15- and 18-degree models feature a 0.5-degree closed face design, while the 21- and 24-degree models are square.
Sporting a sleek, classic black finish, the new ONOFF Fairway Arms Plus woods are made for the more athletic or lower-handicap golfer. The ONOFF Fairway Arms Plus woods feature a super-thin maraging face and weighted sole which generate high ball speeds and a lower, more penetrating trajectory. The ONOFF Fairway Arms Plus woods are available in 3-wood (14°), 5-wood (17°) and 7-wood (20°). The 14- and 17-degree models feature a 1-degree open face design, while the 20-degree model offers a 1.5-degree open face.
ONOFF Fairway Arms Series woods are assembled with Daiwa’s original Smooth Kick graphite shaft, an innovative piece of carbon engineering which creates a four-layer, multi-ply design and produces an explosive release at impact. The red Fairway Arms wood offers lightweight shaft options of 45-grams (R2 flex), 48-grams (R-flex) and 56-grams (S-flex) with a mid-kickpoint; while the black Fairway Arms Plus woods feature 51-gram (R) and 60-gram (S) options. MSRP $379.
“Discriminating golfers in the United States know what they like, and they will love the revolutionary technology and high-end sophistication of these club,” adds Matheny. “With ONOFF, golf equipment becomes far more than just as a means to a better golf game.”
