(VIENNA, Va.) – Buffalo Communications (“Buffalo”) – the golf-lifestyle publicity, media-relations and marketing-communications firm, and a division of Billy Casper Golf (“BCG”) – has named Nick Lashinsky as Public Relations Manager.
Lashinsky will develop and execute strategic media-outreach initiatives to secure influential regional and national editorial coverage about golf courses under BCG management.
For eight years, Lashinsky has worked in the communications field and he spent the last two as a Communications Manager for a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Elizabethtown College (PA) with a concentration in public relations, Lashinsky has significant knowledge about and a passion for golf.
“Buffalo Communications and Billy Casper Golf strive to attract top-flight talent, and Nick’s credentials make him a great fit,” says Rich Katz, Managing Director of Buffalo and Senior Vice President of BCG. “The positive press he will secure for our courses will help grow the Billy Casper Golf brand and spread knowledge of the superior playing and social experiences at our facilities.”
BCG-managed courses are frequently showcased in grassroots and national publicity via feature stories, event coverage, course reviews, personnel profiles, golf tips from PGA Professionals, media-bestowed “best of” awards and rankings, and more.
In addition to raising awareness about BCG courses, Buffalo creates and implements PR programs for many of golf’s top brands. The agency was recently retained by Golf Town, Canada’s largest golf retailer with 38 locations coast to coast. The expansive roster of Buffalo clients includes leaders in golf, fashion, real estate and tourism; including major domestic and international companies such as Castle & Cooke, ECCO, E-Z-GO, Kaua’i Golf Co-op, Mission Hills Golf Club (Shenzhen, China), St. Joe Company and Sun Valley Resort.
Recent publicity about Buffalo clients has appeared in Associated Press, Esquire, Forbes FYI, ESPN, GOLF Magazine, Golf Digest, Golf For Women, InStyle, New York Times, Oprah Magazine, Private Air, Robb Report, Self, Sports Illustrated, The Golf Channel, The Travel Channel, Travel + Leisure Golf, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, roughly all of America’s Top 50 daily newspapers, major TV networks and hundreds of upscale niche media.
BCG manages courses in 22 states, the District of Columbia and internationally. They include Kaanapali Resort (Maui, Hawaii), P.B. Dye Club (Ijamsville, MD) and, combined with Buffalo clients, 26 courses which received critical acclaim in the recent Golfweek’s “America’s Best” state-by-state rankings. More than three million rounds of golf are played annually by more than 500,000 golfers (about 8,000 daily) at BCG-managed courses nationwide, serviced by a team of 3,000-plus customer-focused employees.
