SAN ANTONIO-As March Madness builds toward a climax at this year’s Final Four collegiate men’s basketball championships in San Antonio, area golf courses are introducing Midweek Madness, an array of special golf packages and deals that extend beyond the big weekend.

A star-studded lineup of San Antonio golf courses has teamed up on Midweek Madness, offering reduced rates on greens fees and club rentals to make it more inviting for college basketball fans and golf enthusiasts to tee off before and after the big tip-off.

One of the most popular golf destinations in the United States, San Antonio’s wide variety of golf experiences include historic municipal layouts, championship challenges and world-class resorts. Together, they provide options for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy.

For the golfer who wants to experience the course where the PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open is played, choose from four Midweek Madness packages at the Westin La Cantera Resort. Whether the choice includes overnight accommodations or a private lesson, golfers are certain to enjoy La Cantera’s fabled Jay Moorish-Tom Weiskopf creation.

Another San Antonio resort golf highlight is the beautiful Arthur Hills layout at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. In addition to discounted Midweek Madness greens fees, the resort also will offer Callaway club rentals, six balls and unlimited use of the practice facility (prior to play) in a special “Relax Package.”

Average daily temperatures in San Antonio for March and April range from lows in the 50s to highs in the 70s and typically there is little if any springtime rain – almost a slam-dunk guarantee for good golf weather.
