Players Using SeeMore Putters Earn Top 10 Finishes in WGC Championship & Banco Popular
(Franklin, TN – March 24, 2008) SeeMore Putter Company is gaining momentum heading towards the 2008 Masters, where it’s putter was played by the defending champion, as two Pros using its putters finished in the top 10 at the World Golf Championship in Miami and at the Banco Popular Classic in Puerto Rico.
At the highly competitive World Golf Championship, the pro was tied for ninth overall and tied for seventh in fewest putts per round at 26.5 during the tournament’s four rounds. The WGC featured one of the Tour’s strongest 2008 fields. Meanwhile, at the Banco Popular, the player led the field in birdies, finishing fourth and building on his position as the 2007 Tour birdie leader. Both players used the SeeMore FGP putters in their tournaments.
“We love seeing this momentum heading towards the Masters as players’ putting performance clearly leads to wins and the highest finishes,” says Jim Grundberg, Managing Director of the SeeMore Putter Company. “These performances are especially fulfilling because these two pros have used SeeMore putters for most of their careers, and continue to demonstrate the superior technology of our patented RifleScope technology alignment system.”
“SeeMore is very optimistic about these player’s prospects for the upcoming major and tournaments based on their previous successes at Doral and during one of the turning points of the Tour season,” says Grundberg.
SeeMore is building on its remarkable 2007 accomplishments including wins at the Masters, the Scandinavian Masters, the AT&T Classic, a course record 60 at the Tour Championship, and two victories on the Duramed Futures Tour. The company was re-launched with the mSeries of putters last year, and immediately regained worldwide prominence as Zach Johnson used a SeeMore FGP to win the 2007 Masters. SeeMore also is the putter of choice for the tour’s best putter among the top 50 on the 2006 money list and Ryder Cup player — Vaughn Taylor.
SeeMore putters combine the beauty, precision, accuracy, and feel of 100% milled heads with the original, proprietary and proven alignment benefits of the SeeMore RifleScope™ Technology (RST) system. The patented RST alignment system technology allows a golfer to set up the putter perfectly each and every time in relation to the intended target line. This is accomplished by lining up the black bottom portion of the shaft between two white lines and covering a signature red dot on the heel of the top line. The process resembles locking radar onto a target.
SeeMore originally became recognized when Payne Stewart won the 1999 U.S. Open playing a SeeMore putter. Stewart one-putted the last three holes to win the championship by one stroke. He sunk what’s considered to be the longest putt in Open history on the 18th hole to win the tournament. Stewart also won the overall putting title for fewest putts per round over the entire 1999 season.
Other noted SeeMore Tour accomplishments include Johnson setting the all-time Nationwide Tour putting record of 1.699 putts per GIR over an entire season using a SeeMore putter, finishing first in putting, wins and on the overall money list. He is one of only two players ever on any tour to finish a season under 1.7 putts per GIR. Johnson and Taylor were the two youngest players to qualify for the 2006 Ryder Cup.
Johnson, Taylor and the Duramed winner are students of accomplished putting coach and SeeMore consultant Pat O’Brien. O’Brien’s putting philosophy is based on his study of Stewart during his remarkable 1999 using a SeeMore putter. He has just released his first instructional DVD.
