#1 Brand on Tour Dominates Leader board
Marlborough, MA-March 25th, 2008- An unconventional tournament didn’t stop CHAMP and their best selling spike, the Scorpion Stinger™, from picking up its 6th win on the men’s side in 2008. In total, four of the top five golfers wore CHAMP Spikes at the rain soaked PGA Tour’s World Golf Championships-CA Championship.
The Australian champion was not deterred by Sunday’s stoppage due to rain as he won his second World Golf Championship and stopped the world’s #1 ranked player’s dominant 2008 winning streak at five titles. With the rain the tournament finished a day later than scheduled but it was still sweet victory for the winner, who won his first tournament since the 2006 US Open. He was aided by a final-round of 1-under 71 to finish a remarkable 17 under, one shot better than the runner-up.
The winner, whose shoes come equipped with CHAMP Stinger spikes and the patented CHAMP Q-Lok System®, was not alone as 48% of the field chose CHAMP brand spikes. Additionally, 61% of this week’s field that wore CHAMP spikes chose them over the original equipment that came in their shoes.
