PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., March 26, 2008 The Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) Foundation will host its 6th annual fundraising event in support of junior girls golf during the U.S. Women’s Open Championship in Minnesota this June. When the best players in women’s golf tee off for this most prestigious tournament, EWGA members, friends and family will be on hand to cheer them on and raise money for LPGA-USGA Girls Golf.
In its sixth year, the EWGA at the U.S. Women’s Open fundraising dinner and charity golf tournament will be held at the Stonebrooke Golf Club in Shakopee, Minnesota. The EWGA package which is available to the public, includes the following during the week of the U.S. Women’s Open, June 26 through June 29:
one invitation to the Thursday evening welcome reception, dinner and silent auction
one playing spot in the four-person team tournament on the morning of Friday, June 27
one tournament gift package
one season grounds pass to the U.S. Women’s Open
The package price is $395. Commuter packages for Friday golf only are available for $185 and include full breakfast, golf, prizes and awards lunch. Registration is available online at www.ewga.com
Proceeds raised from this EWGA Foundation event will support LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, a developmental junior golf program for girls age 7-17 to play golf, build friendships and sample competition in a supportive and positive learning environment. Over the past five years, EWGA chapters and the EWGA Foundation have donated over $350,000 to LPGA-USGA Girls Golf.
“This annual event has become a tradition – bringing together EWGA members and other supporters of girls golf throughout the country during the most prestigious women’s golf championship,” says Sandra L. Cross, the president of the EWGA Foundation. “We are proud of our fundraising achievements and on-going commitment to the future generation.”
The EWGA Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization formed and supported by the Executive Women’s Golf Association.
