Top Taiwanese LPGA Golfer Becomes Full Staff TaylorMade-adidas Golf Player to Support the Company’s Commitment to the Development of the Greater China Market
CARLSBAD, Calif. (March 27, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company today welcomes one of Greater China’s most successful golf professionals, Amy Hung, as a significant addition to its Tour Staff in a long-term partnership.
"Amy Hung has demonstrated a true passion for the game of golf from since she first picked up a club at seven-years old in Taiwan, through her victories in Junior tournaments throughout Asia and into her burgeoning professional career," said Mark Klingspon, Managing Director for the Greater China Area.
"TaylorMade-adidas Golf shares that passion, and we are so excited to work together with Amy. Her courage and desire to move from Taiwan and pursue her dream in golf is a tremendous example, and Amy will be a wonderful ambassador as we help grow the game of golf in Greater China.
Hung will play TaylorMade® clubs and wear adidas Golf apparel and footwear. She recently worked in the TaylorMade Rossa® putter lab with the new TaylorMade Rossa Spider putter and was able to improve the forward roll on her ball and the consistency of her putting stroke significantly due to the technologies in the AGSI®+ insert and the Spider’s high MOI design.
"I am so excited and proud to be a part of the TaylorMade-adidas Golf family I’ve been using TaylorMade clubs and adidas footwear for years, but now as a staff player, I’ve had the opportunity to experience their amazing technologies first-hand at their facilities in Carlsbad," said Hung. "The company is very passionate about development golf in Greater China and I can’t wait be support and be a part of their exciting ideas and plans."
Known for her short game, Hung hopes to take yet another step forward from 2007, where she had a career-best finish of #44 on the LPGA money list. In her four seasons on the LPGA Tour, Hung has improved her standing each season, from #118 in her rookie season to 82nd in 2005 to 70th in 2006 and 44th a year ago. Off-course, Hung has a keen interest in supporting the introduction and development of golf for both juniors and those with disabilities, two more objectives aligned with the plans of TMaG in Greater China.
