JUPITER, Fla. – The No. 1 shaft-alignment technology on the PGA Tour, SST PURE® maximized shaft performance and provided tour-proven repeatability with every shot for another victory on the Champions Tour. This weekend’s champion at the Ginn Championship Hammock Beach Resort is among more than 200 PGA, European and Champions Tour professionals who have either requested their shafts be PUREd or had shafts PUREd by their representatives, clubmakers or OEM shaft manufacturers.
With the win, the German-born champion climbed to the top of the money list and Charles Schwab Cup points race. He shot 66.7 percent greens in regulation and scored 14 birdies and one eagle during this weekend’s event.
“We congratulate Bernard Langer on his second strong, Champions Tour victory in three starts,” says Dick Weiss, managing partner of Strategic Shaft Technologies and founder of the SST PURE shaft alignment process. “The victory is our 10th win of the season by players with a history of PUREing their clubs. The success of our patented SST PURE technology is documented more than any other product or service in golf because we scientifically verify and record each shaft’s improvement before AND after PUREing.”
Weiss explains the shot-enhancing PURE technology developed by Strategic Shaft Technologies (SST) L.C. has been independently tested and scientifically proven to minimize off-line shaft bending and/or twisting during the swing and to significantly improve impact repeatability on the center of the club face by up to 51 percent.
Played on the PGA TOUR for nine years, the SST PURE shaft alignment process utilizes proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors to accurately analyze the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and to locate the shaft’s most stable orientation. As a result of the process, SST produces a visual graph and analysis report that illustrates the shafts’ performance results ‘before and after’ the PURE process and detailing three key aspects of PURE alignment. The first is a 360-degree evaluation of the shaft’s stiffness, roundness and straightness, known as the ‘Load Symmetry Index’ (LSI) test; the shaft’s oscillation in the ‘logo up’ or the factory-installed shaft position in the clubhead, and the shaft’s oscillation when in the PURE-aligned position. The percentage amount of each shaft’s improved performance is also recorded by the SST analysis, which provides an empirical confirmation of the PURE process.
