Season Premier Features "Power" Episode with Guest Mike Boyle
Fairhaven, MA (April 2, 2008) ? Golf Fitness Academy presented by Titleist returns to Golf Channel with 10 new episodes to help golfers build a better game through fitness. The season premier, titled "Power," airs tonight at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips, cofounders of the Titleist Performance Institute, begin their fifth season as hosts of Golf Fitness Academy presented by Titleist. They share various exercises, stretches and golf-specific motor skills designed to enhance golf performance through fitness.
On tonight’s season premier of Golf Fitness Academy presented by Titleist, Dave and Greg introduce Mike Boyle, one of the most renowned strength and conditioning coaches in the United States. Mike will highlight stretching exercises and strength-training techniques that will help increase your power.
In addition to this week’s "Power" segment, other topics covered throughout the series include controlling back pain, junior development, beginning a workout program, mobility, returning to golf after an injury, total body workout for golf, manual therapy and flexibility. Filmed at the state-of-the-art Titleist Performance Institute in Oceanside, California, the 2008 series will feature some of the world’s foremost authorities in the golf and fitness communities, as well as Titleist-affiliated PGA TOUR professionals Ben Crane, Arron Oberholser, Scott McCarron and Johnson Wagner.

Dr. Rose, a board certified Doctor of Chiropractic who also holds a degree in Engineering, helped pioneer the field of analyzing computerized 3-D motion and how the body works during the golf swing. Greg specializes in strength and conditioning, manual therapy, rehabilitation, nutritional supplementation and therapeutic exercises as they relate to golf. He has worked with more than 500 professional and 3,000 amateur golfers to help them reach their peak performance.
Phillips is a PGA Professional and is among GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers. Considered one of the world’s premier instructors, Dave applies his expertise in computerized swing analysis and biomechanics to create a clear picture of what happens during the golf swing. Born in England and raised in Africa and Australia, Dave has had the unique experience of playing with and instructing some of the game’s greatest golfers worldwide.
