ATLANTA, GA (April 5, 2008) – U.S. Kids Golf has announced its 2008 Family Camp schedule, which includes six opportunities for young players to improve their games while spending time with family members.
The camps for boys and girls 6 to 12 will be held at Woodloch Springs Resort in Hawley, Pa., June 6-8; Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C., June 13-15; Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Va., June 20-22; Seaview Resort & Spa near Atlantic City, N.J., June 27-29; Callaway Gardens Resort in Pine Mountain, Ga., July 11-13 and PGA Golf Club at Port St. Lucie, Fla., July 18-20.
John Godwin, a PGA Master Professional and director of player development for U.S. Kids Golf, is the camp’s lead instructor. Godwin will be assisted by members of the U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Teachers.
“The 2008 Family Camp schedule includes six outstanding resorts where the focus will be on golf and family,” said Godwin, a former PGA Junior Golf Leader of the Year. “These are great opportunities for kids to improve their games and for families to enjoy time together.”
The camps, which are geared for beginner to intermediate players, will cover fundamentals, rules, etiquette and tips for parents to guide their children through the learning process. During the three-day sessions, parents will serve as caddies as the kids play nine-hole scramble matches with other kids their age. Parents and kids also will play as partners in an alternate shot format. Additionally, parents and kids will team up in putting and short game contests.
Each camp is limited to 36 participants. The tuition cost of $449 covers one player and a parent.
