LAKE MARY, FL – The list of corporate participants for the 18th Annual ING Spring Conference May 27-31 in Atlantic City, NJ, continues to grow above projections, and for good reason. Companies with new products, services or golf courses have several opportunities for excellent exposure to media and others from the golf industry.
This annual gathering of golf media and companies from all corners of the golf industry is open to anyone in the golf business and media, and is conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf. Visit www.inggolf.com for more information.
The first opportunity comes opening night at the host hotel, the Sheraton at the Atlantic City Convention Center. It is the Opening Night Expo and Orientation. Companies, resorts, destinations and others will exhibit in a casual, tabletop display as attendees stroll the hall, which also features food & beverage stations. Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority sponsors the event.
Next comes the One-On-One Appointment Show, in which exhibitors have over a dozen 15-minute meetings with media members of their choice. That is followed by the ING Demo Lab at the Marriott Seaview Resort, where equipment or training companies display products to be tested by attendees. And for apparel companies, the ING Fashion Show’s runway will shine a spotlight on the new trends.
It is no surprise that companies like Adams Golf, Nike Golf, TaylorMade-adidas Golf, Jack Nicklaus Golf Equipment, Jack Nicklaus Apparel, Visit Wales, Golfpac Travel, Player’s Pass, Gustbuster/Sunbuster, Plantation Resort & Spa, Trion: Z, Razor Golf, French Lick Resort & Spa, National Hole-In-One, Green Keepers and many others have already committed to the conference. And there are still openings for companies with products that need exposure.
There are lots of other elements to the four-day event. Education is always a focus at ING conferences. This year it starts with The State Of The Industry panel on Wednesday morning. Panel participants include: Joe Steranka, CEO, PGA of America; Steve Mona, CEO, World Golf Foundation; Mike Hughes, Executive Director, National Golf Course Owners Association. Libba Galloway, Deputy Commissioner of the LPGA; and representatives from the USGA and a major golf equipment manufacturer. Moderator will be Adam Schupak, Senior Writer for Golfweek.
That panel is one of several educational workshops that have been created to help individuals improve their professional skills, increase knowledge of the industry and elevate their companies or careers. Other sessions include:
Small Groups Topics Breakfast, in which experts in various occupations will share secrets of success with their tablemates over breakfast;
Media Roundtable, during which members of the media share opinions and information about various topics affecting today’s media;
Marketing Roundtable, a session during which business executives, marketing professionals and promoters interact about their marketing, advertising and PR challenges in today’s business climate;
Tried, Tested & True, a new session in which several new marketing and promotion ideas will be presented by individuals and dissected by a panel of experts.
Several golf events will be conducted, including the International Pairs World Qualifier at Atlantic City Country Club. A two-player team that wins this 18-hole net points competition will represent ING and the USA in the International Pairs World Finals in Scotland in September, an expenses-paid trip.
Also a Scramble and a skills challenge will be conducted at Marriott’s Seaview Resort & Spa, and the Durland Cup at Blue Herron Pines Golf Club.
At that event, National Hole-In-One Association will host a $10,000 hole-in-one contest, also offering several other prizes. And, eGolfScore will provide real-time wireless scoring.
