#1 Brand on Tour Triumphs in Two Tournaments
Marlborough, MA-April 8, 2008- CHAMP Spikes, maker of Scorpion Stinger™ and Lady Stinger™ golf cleats, dominated this weekend’s women’s professional golf events, with the Scorpion Stinger capturing both the LPGA and Duramed Futures Tour events. CHAMP Spikes, The #1 Brand on Tour, provided the #1 female player in the world the traction and stability she needed to claim the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the LPGA’s first Major of 2008, and the traditional victory splash into Poppy Pond after her 11-under-par 277.
Winning three of the last four events in which she has played, the #1 player recorded her 20th career LPGA victory with this weekend’s win at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Along with the leader, 13 of the top 20 players chose CHAMP Spikes for superior traction and comfort.
In Daytona, Florida this weekend the Duramed Futures Tour players fought for traction against the elements as Leah Wigger won at the AMERICAN SYSTEMS Invitational. With weather conditions wet and unstable, Wigger, as well as the majority of the field, turned to CHAMP Spikes to stay grounded as she finished with a final round 75 to win her first professional tournament.
The numbers continue to rise on the men’s tours, as 67% of the field at the Shell Houston Open who wore CHAMP brandspikes chose them over the spikes that originally came in their shoes. On the European Tour, at the Estoril Open de Portugal, more than half of the field chose CHAMP Spikes, with 62 players choosing the new and improved Stinger.
