HARVEST, Ala. (March 6, 2008) – Balance-Certified Golf’s latest innovative Moment Of Inertia (MOI) technology called the “Shaft StabilizerTM” achieved a 96.8% approval rating in recent customer satisfaction tests conducted at PGA Tour Superstores, KZG, Max Out Golf, The Professionals Golf Shop, and Golf Etc. The bottom line is that customers purchased a “Shaft StabilizerTM at a rate of 96.8% after trying the technology on the range in their driver. Balance-Certified debuted the totally new USGA conforming MOI concept with great success at the 2008 PGA, IPCA, and PCS golf shows. Booth attendance was heavy and Balance-Certified sold out of Shaft StabilizersTM on the very first day of the first show.
Balance-Certified’s VP and Principle Tour Representative John Cranston was responsible for compiling the data acquired from the Shaft StabilizerTM equipped driver tests. Cranston said, “We are very excited about achieving the 96.8% success rate. Basically, that means that after taking customers through a 5 to 10 minute testing session, they bought a Shaft StabilizerTM and had it installed on the spot 96.8% of the time. That rate equates to 30 out of every 31 golfers tested.”
The Shaft StabilizerTM significantly improves swing consistency by optimizing the MOI of the butt end of the club to maximize inertial stability. The resulting improvement in swing consistency equates to more ball strikes with the club head’s sweet spot.
Jeff Lindner, BCG’s President, noted that the “Shaft StabilizerTM is a natural extension of our existing patented technologies. It was inspired by our work on Tour with our staff players Scott Hoch and Tom Jenkins. The bottom line is that the improved MOI increases controllability of the club by providing consistent feedback to the golfer’s hands. This form of inertial feedback does not modulate with shaft loading. Thus the golfer perceives where his hands are during the entire swing.”
The Shaft StabilizerTM is installed in the butt end of the shaft and is designed to be a rigid, distributed weight MOI system that actually increases the strength of the shaft while strategically increasing shaft MOI. It is composed of three major components, the Upper Hand Shaft Mass, the Lower Hand Shaft Mass, and the Mass Coupler/Stabilizer Rod. Each component works in concert to stabilize the upper and lower hands, increase shaft bending and hoop strength, and improve vibration feedback.
Balance-Certified Golf’s industry-leading back-weighting technology was developed by a former NASA engineering team in 1999. The Pro-Balance line introduces strategically-located weights that can be used to adjust a golf club’s vibration and response characteristics and can be installed on any brand of golf equipment and any club in the bag. Balance-Certified’s scientific approach to golf club dynamics helps transform "feel" into a definable and tunable parameter. Independent testing has demonstrated that the Balance-Certified Golf system delivers increased ball speed in drivers, greater iron play control and a tangible benefit in "feel" and distance control of putters.
Balance-Certified Golf’s Pro-Balance weighting system and power rings can be installed by club fitters or by individual golfers with the self-fit kit. Balance-Certified Golf systems can be found at many retail golf shops across the U.S. and elsewhere.
