The new Alpha V5 LX driver, which is yet to be released to the public, is already making its mark by taking the senior golf tours by storm. In two back to back events, Champions Tour player Steve Thomas used the V5 LX to capture the lead at the Florida Senior Golf Tour in Lakeland, Florida as well as a second place finish at American Senior Golf Tour in Maricupa, Arizona.
Known for being the “Longest Driver on the Champions Tour”, Thomas drove more than 400 yards at each event to capture his top finishes. “The driver did it for me!” says Thomas when asked how the V5 LX performed on the tee. “I’ve tried every driver out there, and I have never felt so much power and speed than I have with this Alpha V5 LX”.
The Alpha V5 LX is an updated version of the popular V5. The body is made with a super-dense yet light and rigid Titanium shell. “Maximum smash factor is our goal, and I can honestly say that the new V5 LX is the highest smash factor driver we’ve ever created”, says Dr. Jim Yeh founder and chief designer of Alpha Golf.
The V5 LX is currently still in its prototype stage. However plans to release this new driver to the public are set for the end of May 2008.
