San Antonio's Twilight Golf Season In Full Swing

April 16, 2008

SAN ANTONIO – Some of the best golf in San Antonio – one of “America’s 25 Favorite Cities,” according to readers of Travel + Leisure magazine – is undeniably played in the late afternoon, right up through sunset. Not only are temperatures pleasant, but there’s nearly enough time for 36 holes since golfers can play as late as 8:30 p.m. from May through July.
Twilight play in San Antonio also leaves ample opportunity at night to enjoy the city’s ever emerging reputation as a world-class destination for cuisine and wine, not to mention a chance to enjoy the famed River Walk, where hotels, restaurants, shopping and historic landmarks lie along two miles of meandering paths that border the San Antonio River.
Dozens of San Antonio’s award-winning golf courses are offering special afternoon rates as the twlight season begins in earnest. Packages include everything from carts to senior (ages 55+) discounts, with tee times starting as early as 1 p.m.
One of the most popular golf destinations in the U.S., San Antonio’s wide variety of golf experiences include historic municipal layouts, championship challenges and world-class resorts. Together, they provide options for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy.
