LONGWOOD, Fla. – The PGA Golf Club in conjunction with Golf Marketing Services (GMS) is hosting The Shivas Irons Society (SIS) launch of their Florida Chapter April 26 in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
The Shivas Irons Society, now in its 16th year, is a non-profit, charitable and educational organization dedicated to furthering the game of golf as a mindful pursuit and as a tool for personal growth and transformation. This network of golfers is committed to promoting golf’s value system, honoring its history and traditions, and celebrating the game for its many beauties and virtues.
Robert Sabin, SIS Florida Chapter Organizer, and Auke Hempenius, Vice President of Fashion Consulting and Creative Services for GMS will host the event which will include some presentations about the history and purpose of the Society as well as a scotch tasting (Chivas Regal of course), hors d’oeuvres and a fun contest of skill in putting and chipping
Steve Cohen, the president and founder of the Society, said that he is “delighted to have a local chapter take root in the Southeast” and has “every expectation that this gathering will introduce the Society and its mission to new members as well as to lay the groundwork for future events-including an annual SIS gathering to rival those taking place in several other regions around the country.”
The one-day event is only $100 per person and includes golf carts on the Dye Course as well as a copy of the award winning publication, The Journal of the Shivas Irons Society,
