Els, DiMarco Just Two More Pupils for Butch Harmon
The cup runneth over for the World’s Number One golf instructor, as voted recently by Golf Digest. Butch Harmon, who operates the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Las Vegas’ Rio Secco Golf Club, has landed another world-class golfer as multiple major champion Ernie Els has left David Leadbetter and is seeking advice from Harmon. The list is long of pro golfers who already spend much time at the Harmon facility that rests on the back of the Rio Secco driving range. Other pros that currently work with Harmon–or other highly qualified teachers on his staff–include Adam Scott, Phil Mickelson, Natalie Gulbis, Fred Couples, Nick Watney, Tom Purtzer, Charley Hoffman, In-Bee Park, and several others, so many that it is tough to keep track of them all.

Desert Pines Golf Club Gives Players a Warm, Fuzzy
I have to be honest with you. For awhile, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Las Vegas’ Desert Pines Golf Club. I’m not sure what it was, and why this Las Vegas golf course didn’t give me a true warm, fuzzy. Maybe it was the back-to-back fairways that seemed just a bit too close together, or maybe it was because of my personal struggles with the putter and the Desert Pines greens were just a bit too slick and tough. Poor me. Whatever the case, over the last couple of years, my opinion has done a complete reversal, and now I welcome every opportunity I get to tee it up at this Las Vegas golf course dubbed Pinehurst in the Desert because of its Carolina theme. Only Vegas Event Reveals Vegas, Golf, Business Mix
Las Vegas is the world’s most exciting golf destination, as VegasGolfer Magazine calls it, and we here at Golf Las Vegas Now simply say we are the Ultimate Golf City. And for four days this past week, the city and two of its best Las Vegas golf courses were handed to meeting platters on a silver, golf platter. The playing of the 9th Annual Only Vegas Corporate Invitational brought to town many top-level meeting planners and other travel pros, who are responsible for bringing many groups to Las Vegas to play and do a little business. The event was organized by MeetingsNet, and hosted by Las Vegas’ two Rees Jones-designed golf courses, Rio Secco Golf Club and Cascata. Cascatagolf.com
