DENVER, Col. – Esoteric Golf Technology, creators of the most effective putting systems in Europe, is continuously striving to enhance their products. Recently they made subtle, but important changes to the Path Finder System on the recommendation of Tour professionals.
“The Path Finder System has been in use by more than 200 Tour players around the world for some time … and they have been providing us with extremely positive feedback about it,” said Lars Samuelsson, Managing Director for Esoteric Golf Technology in the USA. “The pros agree that the Path Finder is a tremendously effective tool for ingraining a consistent putting stroke. They shared with us a few additions that would make it even a better putting tool.”
The Path Finder body is designed with magnets attached to its underside and comes with six carbon fiber pins with metal ends. The golfer places these pins in indexed locations on the board depending on the path of the putting stroke and the skill level desired. If the putter deviates from the path of the stroke, it will strike one or more of the pins and make a clear and distinctive sound. The pins will vibrate and then return to their static upright position. The Path Finder features lines for indicating a square putter face at address, ball position and line to the target. It also has a small built in mirror for checking eye position at set-up.
With the feedback from the Tour players, the Research & Development team at Esoteric Golf Technology went to work. They came up with an extra mirror to be placed parallel to the Path Finder on the golfer’s side of the ball. This mirror allows the golfer to check his or her upper body position without losing sight of the mirror that solidifies the head position.
“Precision in putting is key and the Tour players felt that this addition, although small, was a substantial improvement to the Path Finder,” said Samuelsson. “Since making the addition, we’ve found that golfers of all skill levels find it to be an improvement as well.”
The second suggestion was to give the golfer somewhere to putt the ball to while practice away from the course.
“We came up with a plastic ‘cup’ to help them with direction and distance control when practicing inside,” said Samuelsson. “The ‘cup’ is a piece of flat plastic with a hole in it. Amateur players in particular find this to be a big help because it gives them immediate feedback on how they’re reading the break and speed of their putts.”
Samuelsson promised that Esoteric Golf Technology will continue to improve their products as needed.
“We want to provide golfers with the best and most effective putting training system in the game,” he said. “We feel we have, but if we can ever find a way to improve it, we won’t hesitate.”
