Weekend is Twice as Nice

Marlborough, MA-April 21, 2008 – Having recently qualified for the World Golf Hall of Fame, the 26-year-old Rolex Rankings’ number one has added to her legacy with her win at the Ginn Open. The champion’s 19-under par 269 was her fourth straight victory and tied the record for most consecutive wins in scheduled events. The Ginn victory was her fifth of the season and her fifth wearing CHAMP’s Scorpion Stinger™ spikes.

The LPGA tournament also showcased CHAMP’s impressive dominance as 58 players chose to trust their traction needs to the number one brand on Tour. In all, an astounding 47% of the field chose CHAMP Spikes. Four of the top eight finishers looked to the new and improved Stinger with increased traction, comfort and stability.

On the PGA Tour, the winner of the Verizon Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links captured his second plaid jacket in as many tries. The winner, wearing CHAMP Stinger spikes, finished at 15-under 269 for a three stroke victory over his three closest competitors, who also wore CHAMP. He becomes only the third player to win the tournament in consecutive appearances and the first champion to win his first two starts. With the win, the champion also qualifies for next years Masters.

The top four finishers at the Verizon Heritage all wore CHAMP Spikes. A look inside the numbers at Harbour Town will reveal that 67% of the players who chose CHAMP Stinger switched from the original spikes that came in their shoes.

“Victories are one way to identify success,” said Harris MacNeill, President of CHAMP. “Like all Tour players, we look for consistency. We are extremely proud of our consistency and steadily growing Tour numbers. Tour players and recreational players alike recognize the benefits of wearing our new and improved Stinger, so as the season moves forward we expect continued to growth.”
