SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (April 24, 2008) – FiZGOLF, the innovative company selling a Co2 cartridge ball, grip and club cleaner is combining revolutionary design and science into its new FiZ product. Golfers seeking maximum results from their shots are turning to FiZ’s scientifically formulated to dissolve dirt and eliminate grass stains.
FiZ, the brainchild of inventor / entrepreneur Aaron Heap, who invented the patented and revolutionary Seven2 kayak paddle nearly a decade ago, comes in a small Co2 cartridge containing a scientific solution. “It’s a scientific spit shine,” says Heap.
“Many golfers don’t realize the impact even slightly dirty equipment can have on their game,” says Heap, FiZGOLF’s founder and president. “Grimy grooves and dirty dimples counteract today’s precision golf equipment; they can literally steal yards and accuracy from a shot. FiZ will get your gear clean, and clean gear will get you a better game.”
FiZGOLF worked with chemists to develop the Co2 propelled FiZ solution, a patented foam formulated to dissolve dirt and erase grass stains. “I was five months into development when I saw Steve Williams drop Tiger’s nine iron into the pond at the 2006 Ryder Cup trying to get his towel wet to use to clean the club,” states Heap. “Let’s just say the volume for FiZ slammed to 10 at that moment.” Self-contained with its own bag clip and cleaning bristles, FiZ eliminates the spit shine, brushes, wet towels, and tee box ball cleaners into one sleek design.
FiZ lasts for more than 350 sprays or over 100 holes of golf and has an MSRP of $9.99.
“It takes a clean ball, a clean club face and a clean swing to optimize your gear’s performance,” says Heap. “With FiZ, you’ll at least get two of the three.”
That’s proven to be more than enough for golfers since FiZGOLF debuted FiZ this past January at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. In only a short time, FiZ has already moved onto the shelves of such leading retailers as Edwin Watts Golf Shops, Golfsmith, Haggin Oaks, Golf Etc. and others. Green grass accounts are being added daily. International distributors span the globe including the U.S., Canada, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, South Korea, Asia and Indonesia, with future expansion plans on the horizon.
“We are on track to do more than $1 million in sales for 2008, our launch year,” says Heap, who has been golfing since he was 5 years old.
Corporate sales and tournament events figure prominently into that financial projection. The silver dimpled cartridge with translucent green features will turn heads on the course. The design is beautiful as well as functional. The palm-fitting product looks like it belongs with the high-end gear for which it was designed. FiZ is designed to incorporate logos on each side of the cap, making it an ideal gift bag item or tee prize.
FiZGOLF, which is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, is only at the beginning of the company’s golf cleaning revolution. Two other cleaning products are in deep development and will be launched late this summer. Heap forecasts that FiZGOLF, which was incorporated in 2007, will be “the No. 1 company in the golf industry supplying products under the umbrella of ‘clean up your game’.”
Heap’s success as an entrepreneur is a prime engine driving the company forward. In addition to Seven2, which has annual sales in the millions of dollars, Heap also founded East Moon Group, which specializes in brokering product manufacturing for companies in China. Heap says his knowledge will enable FiZGOLF to succeed, even though the golf industry is struggling.
“An innovative, well-designed product that works, if run under the right business model, can make money and be successful even if a market is struggling,” says the 37-year-old Heap. “My companies have innovative products that are based off patented designs. Products that are beautiful, functional and add value to the consumer will always sell well.”
