Gogie Girl backs Berry charity cause

April 29, 2008

CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Gogie Girl, designer of golf headwear exclusively for women, is pleased to contribute to the 2008 Halle Berry Celebrity Golf Classic.

“We share 10 percent of our profits with non-profit organizations that benefit women and children,” said Gogie Girl co-founder Vicky Waldorf, wife of PGA Tour veteran Duffy Waldorf. “The Halle Berry Celebrity Golf Classic is being played to raise funds for the Jenesse Center, the oldest domestic violence intervention center in South Central Los Angeles having been established in 1980. The Jenesse Center certainly fits the mold of worthy organizations that we want to help as much as possible.”

The Halle Berry Celebrity Golf Classic will be played April 28 at MountainGate Country Club in Los Angeles. Included in the festivities will be a special tribute to Renee Powell one of only three black women to play on the LPGA Tour.

“In keeping with the place Ms. Powell holds in the history of woman’s professional golf, we thought it appropriate as an official LPGA licensee to donate hats featuring the LPGA logo to this event,” said Gogie Girl CEO John Gilmore. “It’s another step towards fulfilling our goal to redistribute a portion of our good fortune to those organizations in need.”

Gogie Girl hats come in two sizes – Standard and Petite. Their proprietary Softweave™ mesh fabric and Silton™ lining provides a hat so soft and comfortable, women enjoy wearing it all day long. In addition a shorter, more feminine brim provides plenty of protection from the sun while a perfectly placed and sized space in the back is big enough to accommodate the longest of ponytails. It all adds up to the “Gogie Difference.”
