CARLSBAD, Calif. (April 28, 2008) – TaylorMade Golf Tour Staff professional Darren Clarke rolled home a 40-foot birdie putt on the final hole of the BMW Asian Open yesterday for a dramatic, one-stroke victory. It was Clarke’s 11th career European Tour victory and first playing the new TaylorMade® TP Red™ ball with LDP. LDP stands for Low-Drag Performance, which is a proprietary aerodynamics technology developed to improve distance on the most common types of driver mis-hits. Learn more.

The TaylorMade TP Red with LDP ball incorporates four-piece multi-layer construction and is designed for high-spin players who want less spin, while the TP Black™ with LDP features three-piece multi-layer construction and is designed for low-spin players who want more spin.

Clarke played exceptionally well from tee to green, ranking 5th in driving distance at 291.3 yards using a TaylorMade Burner® TP driver, and ranking 1st in greens in regulation at 69.4% using TaylorMade rac™ Forged TP irons.*

In Clarke’s bag:

"This one is very special," said Clarke, whose last tour win came in 2003. "This is the toughest one of all of them and it’s nice to get back up to where I feel my golf should be. It’s nice to win again and it’s a really, really good feeling."
