#1 Brand on Tour Wins on PGA & Futures Tour
Marlborough, MA-April 28th, 2008- CHAMP Spikes, maker of Scorpion Stinger™ and Lady Stinger™ golf spikes, had two exciting wins this weekend, further cementing its status as the #1 brand on Tour. In Irving, Texas, the winner of the PGA Tour’s EDS Byron Nelson Championship won in three playoff holes while wearing CHAMP Scorpion Stinger spikes. On the Duramed Futures Tour the eventual champion also wore Stinger in another Texas tangle.
According to the Darrell Survey, the golf industry’s officially recognized independent and impartial arbiter of equipment usage, CHAMP dominated the leaderboard. The winner and seven of the top ten finishers on the PGA Tour chose CHAMP Spikes to satisfy their traction and stability needs. As cool temperatures and gusty winds made for a difficult finish, it took an incredible 48 foot putt on the third playoff hole to seal the champion’s victory. Including the winner, an amazing 75% of the field who chose the CHAMP brand plastic spikes chose them over the spikes that came in their shoes as original equipment.
Another tight battle was contested farther south in McAllen, TX at the Jalapeno Duramed FUTURES Golf Classic. Vicky Hurst and Ashley Prange, both wearing CHAMP Stinger Spikes, battled throughout the final round with Hurst holding on to capture her first professional win. Hurst won by three strokes, over the hard charging Prange. CHAMP Spikes, the official spike of the Duramed Futures Tour, were worn by virtually all participants at this week’s event.
