CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Wearing a hat designed by Gogie Girl, Annika Sorenstam won the inaugural Stanford International Pro-Am in a one-hole sudden-death playoff Sunday in Aventura, Fla. It was her 71st career victory and it earned her a spot in the season-ending ADT Championship.
Gogie Girl, designers of hats by women for women and an official licensee of the LPGA, has been making Annika’s hats all year to match her “Annika Collection” of apparel by Cutter & Buck. Gogie Girl will be introducing Annika’s new headwear color line in June 2008.
“The entire Gogie Girl team is so proud to be affiliated with Annika, one of the best woman golfers of all time,” said Gogie Girl co-founder Vicky Waldorf, wife of PGA Tour veteran Duffy Waldorf. “Annika personifies women’s golf and we knew that she was a perfect fit for Gogie Girl.”
Gogie Girl hats and visors come in two sizes – standard and petite and feature their proprietary Softweave™ mesh fabric and Silton™ lining. The hats are so soft and comfortable; women enjoy wearing them all day long. In addition, a shorter, more feminine brim provides plenty of protection from the sun while a perfectly placed space in the back is big enough to accommodate the longest of ponytails. It all adds up to the “Gogie Difference.”
“I love Gogie Girl hats,” Annika shared with her fans in her blog. “They are fun and unique in the fact that they are made by women, specifically for women. I have had a lot of compliments when I have worn them on the LPGA Tour this year.”
As an official licensee of the LPGA for 2008 and 2009, Gogie Girl will donate five percent of the profits generated by LPGA-branded products to The LPGA Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, for scholarships for junior golfers.
