Alexandria, VA – April, 2008 – The Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) is pleased to announce that the sixth annual National Club Championship presented by Cadillac will take place November 16-19, 2008, at TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
This celebrated tournament is an extension of the club championship, providing a national platform for club champions to compete at the highest level. The National Club Championship also benefits the charitable arm of CMAA – The Club Foundation – which provides research, scholarships and other financial assistance programs to advance the profession of club management.
CMAA has contracted with The PGA TOUR Experiences to coordinate tournament operations. The 2008 event will be a 54-hole stroke play tournament (played at scratch) with a maximum of 120 players. A practice round will be held Sunday November 16th followed by three rounds of stroke play Monday November 17th – Wednesday November 19th. All players will play the full three rounds of golf. Winners will be recognized from the Champion’s, Women’s and Senior divisions.

The National Club Championship hosts participants from all over the country and around the world. Clubs are urged to register their champion to participate in the tournament as soon as possible as play is limited to 120 golfers.

The 2007 tournament was held at Ginn Reunion Resort and Club in Orlando, FL, with Mark Strickland from Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, GA, taking home the winner’s trophy. In the Senior Division, Mike Booker from The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, TX, was in first place and the winner of the Women’s Division was Vicky Vandenbrook from Nakoma Golf Club in Madison, WI.
