TaylorMade No. 1 in Drivers, Fairway Woods and Hybrids
CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 5, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff professional Paula Creamer won a sudden-death playoff to capture the 2008 SemGroup Championship in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
The prior week, at the Stanford International Pro-Am, Creamer took part in her first sudden-death playoff on the LPGA Tour, which she lost to a par on the first extra hole. She bounced back at the SemGroup, sinking an 8-footer for birdie using her TaylorMade® Rossa® Suzuka putter on the second playoff hole to win.
"I was not going to lose this week, said Creamer, 21, who fired rounds of 70-71-69-72.”Unfortunately, it had to go into a playoff, but I can tell you I was 120 percent prepared going into that from last week."
The victory was Creamer’s second of the year, sixth on the LPGA Tour, and eighth of her professional career.
Critical to Creamer’s victory was her solid tee-to-green game. Using a TaylorMade® r7® SuperQuad™ driver, she ranked 2nd in driving accuracy, hitting 82% of her fairways; and using TaylorMade r7 irons she ranked 6th in greens in regulation.*
TaylorMade ranked No. 1 in drivers, fairway woods and hybrids at the SemGroup Championship. In the driver category, 23 players relied on the SuperQuad, 14 used the new Tour Burner driver and 13 players put the Burner into play. **
